I just came across this news item about the Met Office changing the official start of spring and some MPs arguing about it.

Of course we are well into spring -nature tells us that - the first bees made their appearance some weeks ago and the first spring flowers have bloomed.

In Japanese haikai terms spring started sometime back.

Nature knows best!

The 21st or the vernal equinox is more like mid-spring - the summer solstice being mid-summer etc.
